Inclusion in early childhood education is a shared practice—shaped by leadership, strengthened in classrooms, and reflected in everyday interactions with the children and families we serve. We know that as international educators and administrators, you give endlessly of your patience and energy every single day. To support you and your teams in this vital work, TAIP is proud to announce an upcoming online workshop focusing on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB).
Meet Our Facilitator: Dr. Eeqbal Hassim
Dr. Eeqbal Hassim is an intercultural educator who works with schools globally to support inclusive and culturally responsive learning communities. With extensive experience collaborating with international schools in Japan, he focuses on helping educators foster identity, relationships, empathy, and a sense of belonging in early childhood education.
What We Will Explore Together
Aligned with TAIP's commitment to professional growth, this interactive session is specially designed for early childhood directors and teachers who want to deepen inclusive and equitable practices across their communities. Moving past abstract theory, the session focuses on real-world, actionable strategies.
During our time together, participants will:
- Reflect on what inclusion looks like in early childhood contexts, both developmentally and relationally.
- Consider how daily practices, routines, and policies shape a sense of belonging and care.
- Build a shared language and understanding around DEIJ concepts in age-appropriate ways.
- Engage in respectful dialogue, listening generously and speaking with care.
- Identify meaningful next steps that support children, families, and colleagues.
Participants will leave with practical approaches to support culturally responsive practices, honor family identities, and foster a deeper sense of belonging for staff and students alike.
