“International School Teacher Assistants” at Poppins International School; 6:00-7:30 p.m.
This Teacher Sharing Session is a chance for Teacher Assistants to gather and discuss their role and duties in the international school preschool classroom. Teacher assistants are an important part of any classroom and they rarely get the chance to experience their own PD events. Please fill out THIS SURVEY to register.
TAIP DIRECTOR’S MEETING
The TAIP Directors Meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 5th at Komazawa Park International School from 6:00 p.m. This is a chance for Directors, Principals and Heads of Schools to meet and privately discuss their jobs. It’s a great way to share ideas, seek advice and talk about the unique leadership challenges that present themselves. An invitation mail for this event will be sent out in the New Year.
TAIP 2018 ANNUAL SPRING CONFERENCE
We are very excited to announce that TAIP’s 2018 Spring Annual Conference will be held on Saturday, April 6th at the Canadian International School, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. This event will feature Elana Leigh, a noted integrative therapist and Director of the Australian Center for Integrative Studies. Ms. Leigh will give a full day, 6 hour workshop. Here is a brief outline:
Teaching from the Inside Out: Switching on our Right Brain in the Classroom
Research indicates the healing nature of right brain to right brain functioning. This often runs counter to our left brain ways of making sense of the world. Difficult and problematic transactions with children or parents is often not to do with what is said but what is perhaps not known, and not spoken – the unconscious wins the race.
In this one-day conference we will explore the theory and practices of right brain to right brain teaching and of BEING in the classroom.
This will be an active day combing didactic and experimental learning.
Please keep an eye out for more info and registration to begin in early January!
Thank you, and we hope that as many members as possible will attend these events.
