As we welcome your new TAIP President, Kathryne Imabayashi, there will be a vacant slot for President-Elect. The President-Elect’s duties are:
To assist the President, to preside at meetings in the absence of the President, and to maintain and update the membership list by category of membership. He or she will also compile and archive the data from the annual membership survey, and be the co-owner of the web-based membership contact data of all the member schools. At the Annual General meeting of his/her year as President-Elect, he or she shall nominate the other members of the Executive Board who will serve during his/her term as President.
Nominations may be made by any association member with the prior permission of the person to be nominated. The Executive Board shall receive the nominations by February 9, 2017.
One of our nominees is Alex Batten:
Alex Batten is an administrative officer at Komazawa Park International School, where he has worked since 2006. He has a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Early Childhood Education, and a Masters of Business Administration, Education. He has been on the TAIP Board of Directors since 2013. He is most proud of his work with TAIP with regards to bringing professional development opportunities, including last year’s well-received Fall Conference with Lisa Murphy.
He hopes to use the opportunity to lead the organization from 2018, furthering its goals and in particular bringing even more exciting professional development events to all our member schools and their teachers. Until that time, he looks forward to supporting Kathryne Imabayashi during her tenure as president this year.
